さくら学園 (Sakura Gakuen)

Nana-chan, as we call her in Japanese, started attending at Mommy & Me class at Sakura Gakuen. We feel so lucky to have found this Japanese school located in Pleasanton, just a few miles from our home. At the school, they kicked off the New Year with a Taiko Drum performance.

Here she is wearing a chan-chan-ko that was originally worn by Haruka and Kasumi.

Nana-chan and Murali had a chance to practice some authentic Mochi-Tsuki (mochi pounding) as well.

Inside, we tasted 3 types of mochi - azuki (red bean), soy sauce and kinako (sweetened powdered soybean). We didn't want Nana-chan to choke on any mochi, so we just gave her a taste of just the azuki- which she thought was just fine!
