Visiting Kolkata during Durga Pooja is like visiting New York during Christmas. The whole city is hustling and bustling with activity. We were lucky enough to experience the largest Bengali festival of the year, celebrating the Hindu Goddess Durga.
During the days before the pooja (festival), we visited artists' enclaves to see how the large structures of Goddess Durga were constructed. This artist is attaching Durga's hair.
