We spent the long Thanksgiving weekend in Santa Cruz. Perfect timing to see some of the 100,000 Monarch butterflies rest at Natural Bridges State Park during their annual southbound migration.
Murali took this photo of a cluster of butterflies high in a eucalyptus tree, using his SLR camera and a spotting scope.
Murali's becoming skilled at biking with a little napper!
We stayed at the Victorian style Cliff Crest Bed & Breakfast. The owner, Adriana (who Naina called "Audrey-Naina") is an artist - her sculptures included a big white horse in the yard.
We enjoyed California Country Tea at the
Quail and the Thistle Tea Room.....
followed by their Goat Guided Tour of the Redwoods!
Saying hello to one of four Dwarf Nigerian Goats.

Getting a better view with some help from Appa!
Look up at the majestic tall redwoods!
Last stop, Roaring Camp Steam Train through the Big Trees! Choo-choo!
This is our very first photo with Santa Claus where Naina wasn't scared and crying. Perhaps it was because he handed her a candy cane! Merry Christmas!
