Our friends Jay and Lan Suekawa invited us to join them at the Happy Hollow Children's Zoo in San Jose, which recently had it's grand re-opening. I must say that California zoos are much cleaner and smell a lot better what I remember from the Bronx Zoo! Here we are petting a donkey and having a lunch break in the shade. Like us, the Suekawas adopted a baby girl from Japan last year. Their cutie pie baby Emiko Makena is 3 months younger than Naina. As these girls get older, they will share a special bond. :) You can see that both girls are slenderizing nicely compared to a photo of them from 4 months ago (Dec 2009). The final photo shows Naina giving us the baby sign for "duck!"
