Time to Eat
Naina is a verry slow eater, but fortunately, we are able to pass the time away with the help of grandparents and Skype. Breakfast is usually enjoyed with her Patti (grandmother) in Kolkata, India, and lunch is in the company of her Obaachan and Ojiichan (grandmother and grandfather) in New York. They can't get enough of her on Skype! Sometimes Naina and her Mom feed each other. Her favorite foods include tofu with miso, yogurt with minced blueberries or strawberries and applesauce. She's recently discovered somen noodles, and finds it funny to slurp them like a proper Japanese kid. As for Indian foods, she seems to like dal, chapati, and idli. Her favorite snacks are "goldfish," yogurt drops, cheerios, and various puffy first foods (apple, sweet potato, etc.). Naina's incisors erupted before her 2 front teeth so she looked like a jack o'lantern. Hmm, maybe that's why she can't chew very fast and hoards her food like a chipmunk!
